Owing to the booming tourism industry, the business scope of international hotels has been gradually expanding while the market competition has become increasingly fierce; in such an era of rivalry, it is more and more difficult for hotel businesses to stand out from the crowd with merely their own powers, hence outsourcing has become one of the means for them to seek new opportunities of improving their core competence. Nevertheless, the Chinese outsourcing market of hotel industry is not mature enough yet and there lie multiple risk factors, such circumstances adhering to the particularity of this field has contributed to the serious outsource hazard it faces. Thus, many hotels have become considerably concerned about how to distinguish and control the risks of hotels outsourcing in order to finally improve the core competence as well as profits through these contracted jobs.Through the huge range of literature as well as empirical researches collaborating with the combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis, this thesis has done studies on the potential risks of international hotel outsourcing with the following main work done.(1) A large amount of literature has been studied and reviewed in order to organize the existing relevant researches.(2) After the on job investigation, the outsourcing business situation of Tourism industry was summarized.(3) Based on the process of hotel business outsourcing, I listed the risk in each section and designed the questionnaire. Through the questionnaire surveys of a number of hotels, a risk evaluation system for hotel outsourcing projects has been established after identifying the potential hazards of them according to their processes. During the start-up period of outsourcing, the major risk factors for hotels are the choices of their contracting contents and the potential of high cost; while in the choosing stage, they mainly face the hazards of selecting appropriate contractors and contracts; when it comes into practice, they need to handle the uncertainty of enterprise culture fusion, the venture in incomes along with the danger of inadequate supervision; eventually, the problem of lacking professional competence will possibly arise along with some immoral behaviors in the withdrawing phase.(4) Empirical researches on the outsourcing contract of F Hotel membership club have been carried out with the individual weightings of each outsourcing risk factors being confirmed by an analytic hierarchy process, then a comprehensive evaluation for every hazard element has been done in accordance to the fuzzy evaluation method.(5) The risk control key points of the Hoteloutsourcing project has been dissected based on the results from the previous steps so that a series of moves for this concern have been introduced and applied with fantastic feedbacks.As a strategic mean for hotel developments, successfully employing outsourcing contracts can improve the competence of themselves, hence its great significance. Besides, membership clubs have become a must-have service for all large international hotels; furthermore, more and more of them have been contracting the operation of such projects yet hardly any of them have conducted risk assessments on it; therefore, to compensate the blank in this aspect, this paper has explored the risks of such outsourcing jobs. This could become either proof of the outsource theory, or to some extent, the guideline for the hazard management of international hotel membership club projects.
