A Study On The Contribution Of Technological Progress To The Low Carbon Economy

Under the background of global warming, the countries around the world were seeking quick and effective solution for the issues and challenges that all mankind faced. China is in a rapid development stage of industrialization and urbanization. Since the development of low-carbon economy started late, there is a large technology gap in developing low-carbon economy compared with developed countries and regions, so it is essential to promote the development of low-carbon technologies, thus we come up with the concept of "the Contribution of Technological Progress to the Low Carbon Economy".By referring to previous research achievements of scholars, we collected and sorted the data of2005-2012about technological progress of Beijing, established the comprehensive evaluation indexes of the impact of technological progress on the low-carbon economy by using gray correlation model of gray system theory, which indicated that technological progress can promote carbon dioxide emissions and also showed that Beijing’s low carbon economy development level is improving.In order to get a reasonable evaluation of the development level of Low Carbon Economy, based on the principles of scientific, operability, etc, we established a low carbon economy evaluation index system which included three levels of quantity, structure and technology, and then used F-AHP to analyze the2005-2012indicators’data of Beijing to calculated the comprehensive scores of low-carbon economy system. In order to get a reasonable conclusion about the Contribution of Technological Progress to the Low Carbon Economy, we used the technical indicators of this year replaced by the next year, which calculated the finally contribution to Beijing’s low carbon economy from2005to2012. The results show that technical progress is crucial for the development of low-carbon economy, the government departments should vigorously promote low-carbon technological progress, and fully exploit the inherent potential of Energy conservation about low-carbon technologies to promote the development of low-carbon economy.
