Since the reform and opening up, china’s economic system has changed from theplanning economy to market economy. During this period, China’s various enterprises areengaged in rapid development of economy. However, the irreparable damage imposed onnatural environment is ignored in the process of economic development. It is not until ourdaily life is afflicted by haze, dust storms and other inclement weather that we are aware ofthe serious consequences of “treatment after pollutionâ€. In addition, such issues as rampantcounterfeit and shoddy goods and employee’s rights not being protected are also increasinglygrim. At the beginning of the21st century, The CPC Central Committee and the State Councilattached greater importance to corporate social responsibility than before, especially after theemergence and spread of the global financial crisis. Premier Wen Jiabao repeatedly stressedthat enterprises should assume the corresponding social responsibility and cultivate a noblemoral quality after the financial crisis and the incident of Sanlu poisonous milk powder. Trueeconomic theories will never come into conflict with the highest moral and ethical standards.Instead, they should stand for justice and integrity, and contribute in an equal way to thewell-being of all people, including the most vulnerable ones. Premier Li Keqaing deployedthe construction of social credit system on the standing committee of State Council, whichaims to solve the credit-lacking problems under current social environment in China, such ascounterfeiting, counterfeits, commercial fraud and avoidance of debt. From the perspective of long-term and sustainable development of enterprises, thoseenterprises assuming social responsibility actively and initiatively not only improve thecompetitive advantage of their own, but also buffer the conflict between labor and capital, protect the economic interests of the country and consumers and protect the environment so asto promote the development of enterprise and society. Based on this cognition, this thesisexplores the reasons why China’s enterprises are lack of social responsibility through theanalysis of its specific manifestation. In the end, according to the above analysis, this thesisputs forward some countermeasures to improve the moral responsibility of China’s enterprises from the perspectives of enterprises, government, society, and talent cultivation. |
