Nowadays information has been incorporated into people’s daily life, changing andimproving people’s life, and thus playing a more and more important role in the countryand even among plain citizens. Accordingly, the proportion information industry takes inthe Gross National Product of our country is increasing year by year. As an emergingpower of information industry, Internet of Things is bound to progress the quickdevelopment of IT industry, ignite another liberation of productivity forces, bring anotherrevolution to human society and advance the development of world economy at full speed.Since our country is a typical agricultural country, the development trend of ruraleconomy concerns prosperity and stability of the country. In our vast land, there areagricultural products of different features in different regions with unique resourceadvantages. But currently most of the agricultural product markets in our country still stayin the stage of primary spot market. And the channel and opportunity of marketing ofagricultural products are not smooth enough, bringing much impact to farmers’ income.This paper, based on opinions of relevant scholars and experts on Internet of Things,its application and network marketing of agricultural products, conducts special researchon the application of Internet of Things in agricultural products marketing, with the hope ofapplying Internet of Things to sales of agricultural products effectively, reducing costs ofagricultural products, lessening the time span of production and transportation ofagricultural products and increasing the efficiency of sales chain of agricultural products.Meanwhile, this paper also aims to propose practicable suggestions and relevant strategyabout optimization of the application of Internet of Things in marketing of agriculturalproducts for current problems and difficulties in application of Internet of Things, in orderto utilize information technology in a better level to open international and domestic saleschannels for agricultural products, promote the development of the agricultural producteconomy in our country, which inevitably has important practical significance.
