Research On The Development Of Yangon Port Logistics, Myanmar

With the further development of economic globalization, exchanges between world trade and economic strength increases. In this transformation among countries and factor productivity is also rising and re-combinations and configurations. Ports and port logistics for a regional economic and social development is concerned, has a positive role in promoting the economic growth of a country or regional benchmark. From the last century, the development of the port has been extensive attention of countries, a strong impetus to the development of the port of economic progress and social prosperity of the local or regional. Port Logistics management is an important part of the port’s economic development, the success of the port and logistics management, is to determine whether a port determinants of economic success.Myanmar’s Yangon Port is the largest international port in the country which bears most of the Burmese port transportation and port trade mission. It is the most important hub for international trade and logistics. Myanmar production and manufacturing of goods and merchandise are transported to around the world to achieve its goal of logistics and supply chain management through this port. Efficient transport capacity, the development of container transport, efficient port management and port logistics services constitute Yangon Port Development goals. Although there are problems in Yangon port management and operations and the need for effective coordinated parties, but Yangon Port Authority as a positive development of the company, is currently working to improve transport effectiveness and port logistics information technology, and forward to the large international port.In this paper, Yangon port & logistics management and development for the study, in order to transport and supply chain management, economic theory based on the theory, based on the analysis of current research on the analysis of the concepts, features and functions of port logistics are introduced. The main development model of port logistics, application method SWOT analysis of the advantages Yangon port logistics development, weaknesses, opportunities and challenges are presented. On this basis, the analysis was made of the level of development of Yangon port logistics and its problems. Finally, the problems put forward countermeasures and suggestions for Yangon port logistics management and development. The purpose of this study is for Yangon port authorities to point the way forward in Yangon port logistics management and development, for Yangon Port to become a new service domestic and international trade and logistics important port and economic development in Myanmar, providing intelligent service pole.
