The Development Of Commercial Health Insurance In Guangxi

In recent years, regional advantages of Guangxi highlight further, and the comprehensive strength advances steadily. The citizens’ health consciousness is strengthed, because of the improvement of citizens’living level, the way using commercial health insurance to transfer health risks is also popular among them gradually. However, taking accounts of the proportion of Guangxi’s health insurance premium income in national, the development of commercial health insurance is still inadequate. In this critical time, it is urgent to research on health insurance market in Guangxi, to help health insurance industry play an important role in economics and the society. This paper analysizes the SWOT of commercial health insurance in GX area, considering the current status of GX commercial health insurance; on the other hand, through an online questionnaire survey, it deeply analyses the residents’demand for commercial health insurance of Guangxi. Finally, based on the successful experience at home and abroad, and the characteristics of Guangxi, it proposes some suggestions to develop commercial health insurance rapidly.This paper uses methods like literature research, comparative analysis, quantitative and qualitative analysis. This paper is divided into five chapters. The first chapter summarizes the existing research results related to the commercial health insurance in home and abroad and they provide rich and reliable theoretical basis for this article. The second chapter, introduces the concept and features of health insurance, and summarizes the important role of commercial health insurance. The third chapter, on one hand, expounds the current situation and problems of the commercial health insurance in Guangxi in the macro sense, and analyzes the possibilities of developing commercial health insurance in Guangxi by the method of SWOT; on the other hand, the author collects 512 valid questionnaire responses in all about the demand of commercial health insurance, from GX citizens online. It elaborates the development direction of Guangxi commercial health insurance from the micro perspective, through descriptive statistical analysis of the research data. The fourth chapter introduces three kinds of development mode of health insurance taking the United Kingdom, Germany and the United States as examples. At the same time, it analyzes the successful experience of "Zhanjiang model" in china and summarizes the enlightenment to the commercial health insurance’s development in Guangxi from the existing researches both at home and abroad. The fifth chapter explains a proposal to develop commercial health insurance in GX area, basing on the analysis of above chapters and the local characters of GX.
