| With the development of Sino-US trade, China has become the main source of country American imports from. But the trade friction between the two countries continues lasting, Iron and Steel manufacturing was the key objective that U.S. had been protecting. U.S. anti-dumping targeted Chinese commodities increasingly year by year. As a result, there happened trade diversion in this process. Based on collecting HS73 product sample in antidumping cases, I processed iron and steel products sample data by using Prusa model to find there are two outcomes exerting in anti-dumping. First, some of the HS73 were driven out of the market completely. Second, other goods were not only still there, but also increasingly entering the market. Focusing on Chinese goods exited U.S. market, this dissertation analyzed the trade diversion effects during anti-dumping investigation by employing Armington model. Through regressing, it shows that Canada, Mexico and Chinese Taiwan became the candidates to substitute China as import partners after anti-dumping. The structure of this dissertation is divided into five parts: In the first chapter, it introduced the research background. I sum up some overviews on theory about dumping and anti-dumping in the second chapter.; In the third chapter, I describe the method in detail why I employed Prusa model and Armington model to do analysis work. What I have done in the fourth chapter is to process sample data collected from USITC database and regress two model for finding relation between dependent variable and independent variable. In the final chapter, I’ll draw some conclusion and suggestions for Chinese responding measure to U.S. anti-dumping against Chinese goods. |
