Comprehensive Evaluation Of Transportation Sustainable Development In Xianyang

Urban transportation which is the foundation of national economy and social development plays a vital role in economic prosperity and improvement of people’s living standard. It has made significant achievements in the development of city traffic since reform and opening policy. But the attendant traffic congestion, environmental pollution, shortage of resources, traffic accidents and other problems followed seriously affects people’s daily life, especially on the economic development. How to solve the negative influence and realize the urban traffic sustainable development has become a hot issue of concern at home and abroad.In this paper, through the research on the theory of sustainable development of urban traffic, the index system of sustainable development of Xianyang urban traffic was established from the aspects of traffic environment, social economy, resource utilization etc.combined social and economic development of Xianyang. Analytic hierarchy process(AHP)and entropy method were utilized to conform the weight of each index. Then, based on the measurement value and the corresponding evaluation grade, the evaluation model of traffic sustainable development in Xianyang was established, the status quo of each index in the index system was calculated by correlation function of the value of membership on the evaluation level. According to the principle of maximum correlation degree, the traffic sustainable development evaluation grade level of Xianyang city was C which belongs to the general level of sustainable development. The policy suggestions for the sustainable development of urban traffic in Xianyang were put forward: the raising of awareness and creation of good atmosphere for sustainable development; the construction and improvement of urban comprehensive transport system; the effective promotion of the bus priority strategy;promoting eco transportation to promote the sustainable development of urban traffic;strengthen coordination between departments and planning the public transport development well. Finally, some concrete countermeasures against the existing problems of Xianyang traffic development were put forward.
