An Empirical Study On Farmers’ Environmental Behavior And Motivation On A Survey Of 140 Households In Pengyang County

Since the middle of the twentieth Century, along with the growth of population, industrial development and the growth of economic, the environmental pollution increase seriously, environmental problems have gradually become the focus of attention of the community. With the rapid development of agricultural production mode transformation and the rural economy, rural environmental pollution get more and more highlight. Rural environmental problems caused wide concern of public and scholars and social. The environmental protection behavior of peasant household is particularly important.In this paper, with farmers environmental behavior as the research object, combined with the existing domestic and international research design farmers environmental behavior index, and go in to the farmers’home to get research data. Use the mathematical statistics and binary logistic regression regression to analyze the factors of farmers’ environmental behavior and the influence factors. Based on that to explore the farmers’ environmental protection behavior motivation. The results found that farmers generally pay close attention to the situation of environmental quality and environmental protection facilities construction. The farmers have strong desire to protect environment and like to participate in the environmental activities. But the environmental protection knowledge not enough deeply. The environmental behavior of farmers belonging to the selfish behavior. The ultimate goal is to access income and improve the quality of life. The lack of environmental protection facilities and information makes the implementation of environmental protection behavior of farmers continued to be difficult. Farmers’ cultural level is higher, the farmers more inclined recycling of plastic sheeting. Farmers have more cultivated land, more do not recycle plastic sheeting. Farmer more to participation in environmental protection, the more easily recycled plastic sheeting. The leading motives of farmers environmental behavior is physiological need.Integrated data analysis results, based on sustainable development and operational principle, put forward the following suggestions:make full use of farmers strong environmental intention, increase the propaganda; increase investment in education to enhance the farmers cultural level; the establishment of long-term effective incentive mechanism, from the perspective of environmental protection and public policy externality perspective, develop with sustainability land system and agricultural production technology system; pay attention to agricultural products production processes, optimize the mode of production, from the source to solve the pollution of the environment; to strengthen the building of rural environmental protection facilities, provide convenient conditions for farmers to implement environmental protection behavior.
