What is the important content of modern company management? It is core competitiveness. Performance management is an effective method to promote the core competitiveness, is an important part of modern company management.With Chinese reform wave of surging, state-owned enterprises restructuring, foreign companies enter China. More private companies mushroomed appear. Most of them are small and medium sized. They join market competition ranks. In the past years during my growth, many brand I heard when I was in primary school, but disappeared after I graduated from primary school. Some companies even lasted only two or three years, such as short-lived. Companies are always stop development at the beginning of its life cycle or just at the early growth stage. The reason, many of which are associated with the company’s management, in particular the degree of enterprise performance management is most closely related.Enterprises developments generally follow four steps, people named it life cycles, including startups period, growth period, maturity period, and decline period. Chinese small and medium sized private companies, family-oriented development are obvious characteristics. Normally should be in favor of centralized enterprise management, promote development. The reason, that why it was always difficult when in the process of development, which is related to Chinese market economy characteristics. In Chinese economic development surround, competition in the market is fierce. Enterprises need manpower resources support for being and developing. Fundamental content of the talent work is management. Without appropriate performance management system, we can’t guarantee for achieving company strategic objectives. We can not do anything basis for long-term development.F Company is on behalf of small and medium private enterprise of traditional manufacturing industry, which type is the path of family development. Since its set up, F Company has experienced startups period, growth period, maturity period. Its life cycle had been extended after the second venture successfully. In these different periods, F Company has used different methods of performance review and performance management. Based on the F Company at different life cycle development and implementation of performance management, the paper analyzes the characteristics of different performance evaluation model of F Company. And based on F company case, the author makes a proposal, which is the private enterprises performance management optimization in different stages of life cycle. Among them, the proposed of performance management solution in growth period of private enterprise company is built a combine strategic performance management system based on MBO and KPI. The proposed of performance management solution in maturity period of private enterprise company is built a combine strategic performance management system based on BSC and KPI. In this paper, the performance management system been designed for corresponding management processes and performance evaluation methods. It has practical significance to the small and medium private enterprises that is similar situation with F Company.This paper innovation possible as following:1. The data selection, this paper chose intuitive actual data, strong truth data, information completely, and facilitate detailed analysis and performance evaluation through the data in different ways to various research specific issues, which is let analysis be even more representative, the results even more convincing.2. Case of selection, the paper chose the real specific cases, and put forward its own views on the problems in the case.3. In terms of research, the paper choose the enterprise performance management issues of growth period as a entry point, a specific research of F Company performance management question, put forward the performance management proposal of private enterprises in different life cycle.
