The industrial structure refers to the inter-combination relations among various industrial departments in industrial economy system of a nation or region. A reasonable industrial structure will benefit the optimum use of regional resources, the optimization of regional advantage, the promotion of regional industrial economic result and competitive power, and the boost of regional economic strength. Since the reform and opening, China’s rapid economic growth has been a world wide achievement. Moreover, the rapid economic growth benefits from the rapid industrial growth. But due to the difference among the mode of production, technology, and endowment resource, industrial structure and economic development vary considerably from area to area. Meanwhile, with the acceleration of marketization from china, and the drawing up of "the eleventh five year plan" "the twelfth five year plan" economic development strategy and planning. The changing pattern of china’s industrial economy has aroused a wide range of economists’concern. Therefore, below the new historical conditions, a research on the present situation of whole pattern from china’s regional industry, development direction, Internal potential based on industrial structure and industrial competitive power has practical significance.Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Metropolitan Area which is the biggest and the most developed economical core region of north china has become the third swelling region of china’s economy after Yangtza River delta and Pearl River Delta, and also our center and gateway of participating in international economy exchange and cooperation. This thesis regards the regional industrial competitive power as theoretical basis. The research emphasizes on combining economic theory with statistical method., adopts shift-share technology and its extending model, takes empirical analysis on the recent development status of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Metropolitan Area’s industrial structure, considering the total industrial output value’s changing growth of twenty five industries involved in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Metropolitan Area from 2001,2006 to 2011 as the object of study. The research has revealed that the industrial structure of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Metropolitan Area is basically reasonable, but the general development is not optimistic. The competitive power of the whole industry especially the high and new technology industry is lower. Some industrial sectors are presenting the trends of being consistent. That will affect the rapid development of the industry in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Metropolitan Area. At the end of the thesis, according to the analysis on the industrial structure of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Metropolitan Area and the advantages and disadvantages of competitive power, the paper puts forward the related adjustments to industrial structure and promotes the space for choosing the policy which is inclined to the competitive power of regional industry, furthermore offers a proposal to the feasible policy.
