Construct Validity Research On China’s Regional Industrial Competitiveness

Industrial economy is not only an important part of the national economy, but the basis of regional comprehensive strength as well. Under the international economic background of deepening reform of the global economic integration and information technology, and in the domestic economic circumstance of China’s economic transformation and industrial structure adjustment, the status of regional industrial economy has turned more and more important, and the competition of regional industry has become more and more fierce. In our country, researches of industrial competitiveness have a relatively late start, combining the situation of the economic development in our country with the matured research theory of competitiveness internationally, the researchers have built different evaluation index systems of industrial competitiveness to assess industrial competitiveness, they have achieved good results, whereas there are a lot of problems left. How to scientifically assess different researchers’evaluation results of industrial competitiveness and how to analyze the scientificity and validity of the evaluation result, these two points have formed another research topic in economics.Comprehensive evaluation is to measure economic traits, it belongs to statistical research methods, therefore it is necessary to exert validity test on the results of measurement. According to the present research achievements in our country, research of this field is still very weak, this is a problem that deserves attention. This paper performs test on the construct validity of industrial competitiveness in order to ameliorate and promote the research of this field. This paper is based on the latest international research results, and selects typical cases of industrial competitiveness evaluation, it collects the data of the economic development of regional industrial development from 2008 to 2011, and this paper adopts confirmatory factor analysis model to perform the test of construct validity. Combined with economic theory and statistical theory, this paper makes analysis on test results, it also points out the advantages and disadvantages of typical case model, and it makes correction based on the model, thus explores and establishes a new model evaluation of industrial competitiveness, which possesses much more construct validity.This paper puts forward some ideas of performing construct validity test on the assessment of regional industrial competitiveness, and it establishes the inspection framework and model, so as to deepen the study of application methods in this field. The test results of the appraisal construct validity on regional industrial competitiveness is intended to provide valuable reference to the researchers engaged in this field.
