Simulation Study On Development Of Copper Resources Based On Goal Programming In China

Cooper is an urgently needed and strategic non-ferrous metal in our country. In recent years, with the quick development of national economic, there is an increasing demand for copper resources. However, the copper reserves are limited, and the static guaranteed period of cooper recoverable reserves is less than seven years. So, the supportability of cooper is poor in our country. How to improve the guaranteed degree of copper resources, and meet the current social and economic development needs is a problem that needed to be solved by the land resources management sectors.Guided by the theory of sustainable development, combining circular economy theory, the theory of mineral resource security, mineral resources demand theory and mineral resources planning theory, from the perspective of the mineral resources planning management, this paper sets up a goal programming model of copper mine resource development in our country whose goals are increasing the guaranteed degree of copper resources, meeting the needs of national economic development for copper and improving the safety degree of copper supply, based on the analysis of the status quo of the geological exploration, development and utilization and market operation of copper resources in China, and has carried on a simulation study. The paper thinks:In recent years, the geological exploration efforts of copper resources are increasing, and proved reserves continue to increase in China. The development and utilization level of cooper resources enhance unceasingly, but the uneven distribution of resources and unreasonable structure of copper mine scale also limits it greatly. The implementation of national policy and the application of comprehensive utilization of advanced technology lead to the rapid growth of the comprehensive utilization value. The production and consumption of copper products have continued to grow, but the unreasonable industrial structure of copper industry give rise to the unreasonable structure of copper products and imbalance of supply and demand. inadequate domestic supply of copper products bring about high external dependency and widening trade deficit.Considering the simulated results of goal programming model of copper mine resource development in our country, we can say that: by 2020, copper reserves and the annual output of copper concentrate will reach to 20.95 million tons and 3 million tons, that is double of 2012. Annual imports of copper concentrate(metal) will be 3.66 million tons, an increase of 1.3 million tons compared with 2012.According to the analyses of the current situation of copper resources and the results of goal programming model of copper mine resource development, this paper puts forward some suggestions of the sustainable development of copper resources in our country: strengthen the exploration of mineral resources to improve the guarantee capability of copper resources; Optimize the structure of industry of copper industry to improve the ability of domestic copper supply.
