Since 2014, the State of Housing boom index in China has shown a downward trend monthly. Meanwhile the growth in real estate fixed-asset investment is slowing and also there is a phenomenon that the property sales were down as compared to the previous year. Because of the sustained low momentum of the real estate industry, so many "rescue" policies were introduced in succession by the local governments, for example, the government eased the property clampdown and lifted restrictions on housing sales from the beginning of June. Faced with such a hostile environment, schedule control has become a very important issue that the real estate companies have to pay attention to.The research on the schedule control of real estate project not only has great theoretical significance, which can guide to form a complete schedule planning system and standardized schedule control system and also are helpful to establish safeguards, but also can be used to guide practice work. First of all, this paper sorted out the domestic and foreign schedule control theories, and from the perspective of the owners, supervision units, construction units as well as other aspects discussed the factors influencing the progress control. And also this article described the meaning of WBS, the decomposition principle and decomposition methods in detail. Then using the case study and taking the ZP project as the research object,, schedule plan was made including the work breakdown structure, work duration estimation, making the responsibility assignment matrix, the preparation of the Gantt chart and schedule planning.Eventually, based on the schedule plan, next step is to make the schedule control plan, which is the key point and the core link. In this ZP project, the progress of schedule control is dynamic and a closed loop. There is a need to establish the schedule control system and there are six assurance measures including management measures, program management measures, construction materials and construction machinery and labor guarantee, technical assurance measures, financial assurance measures and design optimization measures etc. Furthermore, after selecting a date for the progress check, Gantt chart analysis, S curve comparison method and Earned Value Analysis were separately used to analyze the differences between the schedule plan and the actual schedule. And then the schedule plan must be updated through the suitable methods in order to ensure the schedule implementation of ZP project.
