The Empirical Research On The Factors That Influence The Changes Of The Consumption Structure Of Rural Residents In Chongqing

Consumption, investment and net export are considered as the three main factors in the theory of economy growth. Consumption has lasting effect to promote economic growth. Since the Reform and Opening-up, the standard of income and consumption of our residents has gradually risen. The transformation of consumption structure and expansion of consumption demand become the main forces of China’s rapid economic growth. Since the municipality of Chongqing, the standard of consumption of rural residents has continuously improved and consumption structure has obviously changed, and play a more important role in economy growth. The issue of consumption structure become an important part of consumption problem research and an important indicator of consumer status for a certain period. We do research on The issue of consumption structure and find out the change of consumption structure and grasp the direction and general interest of demand, then we can provide a good policy environment and promote rational consumption to consumers, further promote industrial structure adjusting and consumption structure optimization rationally. It has very important significant to improve the speed and quality of the economic growth in Chongqing, specially to release potential consumption and improve rural consumption.The author uses the theory research method and empirical research method to analysis consumption structure of rural residents in Chongqing. Since the municipality of Chongqing, the standard of consumption of rural residents has continuously improved and consumption structure has obviously changed, and the living standards Improved obviously. The main research in this paper:research on the theory about consumption structure, dynamic analysis of the consumption structure base on Engel coefficient and the degree of change in consumption structure, analyze the factors that influence the changes of the consumption structure of rural residents in Chongqing, analyis the influence of income level, population age structure, industrial structure and urbanization rate to consumption structure with VAR model and analysis the impact of income differences to consumption structure by panel data model, finally put forward policy proposals to promote consumption structure upgrading of rural residents in Chongqing according to the results.The main research conclusions:(1)the Engel coefficient of rural residents in Chongqing was the overall decrease trend and rural engel coefficient less than 0.5 and the living standards of rural residents are in the well-off state since 2009.(2)the rate of food consumption to the total consumer expenditure is declining, clothes consumption expenditure,household appliances, education and entertainment and others are declining (3) The average degree of change in consumption structure is 4.906 from 1997 to 2013, and the of influence food, household appliances, Living is obviously. (4) Income level, population age structure, industrial structure and urbanization rate have an important influence to the rural consumption structure, and income level makes the most contribution to the rural consumption structure, which is up to 16.89%, and population age structure is the least. (5) the trend of marginal consumption of different types consumer spending are differences obviously, increasing income level makes the most contribution to the demand increasing among the low-income groups.
