As the largest express company in China, China Postal Express & Logistics Co.Ltd. is facing the trouble of smaller market share and lower customer satisfactory rate. The business processes of express companies which belong to service-type companies greatly affect their outcomes. Therefore, it is intended in this thesis to firstly describe the core business of EMS, that is, its business process. Secondly, business flow chart is employed to analyze the problems in current business process. Thirdly, to deal with these problems, optimization schemes are proposed by means of flow chart, saving algorithm and parity figure method. Lastly, Chengsuligong is used as an example to make an analysis and optimization scheme is proposed.Specifically, the author firstly describes the organizational structure of Chengdu EMS and after making an analysis, concludes that head-branch company system is better than parent-subsidiary company system. Secondly, the author describes the whole process from ordering to delivery with an authentic express business. The whole process includes the customer placing an order, onsite pick-up, handing over, interior sealing, sorting out, transportation and delivery. Among them, the customer placing an order, onsite pick-up, sorting out, transportation and delivery are emphatically analyzed. For problems existing in these modules, different optimization schemes are designed. During the ordering process, distribution method can be used to improve the completing rate of 11183. Besides, for VIPs and non-VIPs, different ordering processes can be designed to shorten the ordering time by WeChat. During the onsite pick-up process, by cancelling unnecessary activities, the time spent in picking up packages is cut down and the working efficiency is improved. During the sorting out process, the areas of packages are redesigned by color and number so as to improve accuracy and reduce the time needed. During the transportation, the transportation path is optimized to reduce the distance, time and cost. During the delivery, parity figure method can be applied to optimize the delivery path and improve customers’ satisfaction rate.It is hoped that the analysis and optimization research on the processes in EMS business of China Postal Express & Logistics Co, Ltd. can bring some enlightenment to some of its branches, especially to those companies with similar external market environment.
