Study On Convergence Of Chinese Provinece’s Industrial Economic Growth

China’s economy has been developing rapidly since the reform and opening up, but the gap is also growing up. The majority of all existing literature are studies on regional differences in economic growth and convergence in China, but less involved the research of differences and convergence on industrial economy. However, the industrial sector plays an important role in the national economy, and created a lot of wealth for the country. Because of the historical foundation, resource endowments, talent technology, industrial structure, traffic location, policy environmentand other aspects, the regional industrial exhibit uneven growth, affect the level of regional economic development is not balanced, and not conducive the sustainable of economic development. Therefore it is necessary to research the differences and convergence of the industrial growth. So whether there is convergence of the differences between industrial growth since the reform and opening up, if exist then how fast convergence and the factors which affect the convergence. This article try to study the differences and convergence of industrial economic growth between the provinces of China, to answer the above questions.The main contents of this paper includes:(1)Use the poor, standard deviation, coefficient of variation and Theil index to describe and analyze the differences of the industrial economic growth between the China’s provinces, and use the Theil index decomposition of the total differences to regional differences and interval differences, further reveal the evolution of China’s economic growthdifference and constitute sources.(2) Based on the differences analysis to analyse the industrial economic growth convergence between the provinces of China, verify that the national economic growth and the eastern, central and western provinces of the existence of σ convergence, β convergence and convergence clubs.(3)Based on the analysis of conditional convergence to explore the path of how to decrease the gap between the industrial growth Chinese provinces.The results show that:(1) The differences in China’s industrial growth appear the “Inverted V” type change, but the overall trend was narrow,the regional differences significantly greater than interval differences and exhibit the feature of “Dual Convergence”, so the main reason of the industrialeconomic differences is the interval differences;(2)Our province’s industrial economy grewσ convergence, absolute β convergence, and the speed of divergence is 2.38% during 1998-2004, the speed of significantly convergence is 3.87% during 2004-2012, and the speed of weaker convergence is 1.73% during 1998-2012, and exist apparent conditional βconvergence. Sub-regional perspective, only the eastern and central regions exist σ convergence and absolute β convergence, but the eastern, central and western regions both exist apparent conditional βconvergence;(3)In order to decrease the industrialeconomic differences, promotethe coordinated and sustainable development of the industrial economy, we should increase industrial fixed assets investment, increase investment in human capital, improve the overall quality of industrial workers, develop the non-state-owned industrial economy in the Midwest, promote the optimization and upgrading of industrial economy, effectively promote the reform of government functions, accelerate the pace of urbanization in the Midwest and promotethe construction of industrial infrastructure.
