The Impacts Of Organizaional Slack On Choosing Technological Innovation

Chinese enterprises are in the period of deepen reformation, changing the mode of development and improving innovation capacity is not only the requirement of the times, but also the result of the development of market economy. The successful innovation premise on consuming resources, so how to use the limited resources in the enterprise and then supporting efficiently innovation is the key for enterprises to complete transformation. Within the enterprise, in fact, there is a special kind of resources-organizational slack, and it is worth noting that the organizational slack serves to ease the shortage of enterprise resource and cultivates the potential innovative capacity. Therefore, the study of different organizational slack’s influence on technology innovation to guide managers effectively implement innovative activities is of great significance.In this paper, the research object is the relationship between the organizational slack and the technology innovation within the enterprise. First of all, dividing further the existing types of organizational slack, and on the basis of division, examine the relationship between different organizational slack and an exploration-exploitation innovation. At the same time, taking into account the enterprise faces the competition environment in facts, this paper introduces competitive environment as a third variable, and constructed a relational model of the organizational slack’s effects on technological innovation where the competition environment serve as a regulating variable. Then, measure the construction of the relational model, collect the questionnaire data, and take advantage of multiple regression analysis to examine empirically the relation model.Studies have shown that unabsorbed slack are favorable for exploration and exploitation innovation, which is more conducive to exploratory innovation, and competitive environment will actively adjust its relationship with the exploitation innovation, but will be negative to adjust its relationship with exploratory innovation; Absorbed universal slack has positive influence on the exploration and exploitation innovation; the difference of the effect is small and competitive environment will actively affect the of the relationship between absorbed universal slack and exploratory-exploitation innovation; Absorbed specific slack is advantageous to the exploitation innovation, hinder the exploratory innovation, and competitive environment will actively affect the relationship between the absorbed specific slack and exploitation innovation, but no obvious effect on the relationship between the absorbed specific slack and exploration innovation.
