The eighteenth Party Congress report pointed out that employment is vital to people’s lives. Therefore, by achieving high quality employment,we could promote the development of society. The majority number of minority workers are in ethnic minority areas of China and they are also the important part of the employment staff in the labor market of China. The quality of employment problems of ethnic minorities in the border regions is not only related to the smooth implementation of China’s strategy towards employment priority but also it has a enormous impact on consolidating and developing the ethnic relationship of equality, unity, mutual assistance of harmonious society as well as promoting an living together in peace.Since the reform and opening up policy, a large number of minority labor from agricultural and pastoral areas are migrated to the cities and towns, and the scale is expanding continuously. These ethnic groups of migrant workers employment are mainly concentrated in the third industry. Therefore, the employment stability is not high, there is a phenomenon of frequent change on their occupation. Jobs of the ethnic floating population are mainly focused on individually owned business and sometimes they create a large number of jobs on their own which is closely related to their own ethnic customs and cultural background, which is also an advantage of their employment. They are indispensable part of urban labor force since they are making their outstanding contributions to the construction of urban economy and culture.The employment problem of the attention of ethnic minorities in border areas, using first-hand information questionnaire, analysis of the problems existing in the employment of ethnic minorities, of the solutions. This paper studies the employment problem of ethnic minorities in the border regions which is not only relates to the social development in the minority areas but also has a strategical significance on the unity of development of national minority employment groups in the border areas.
