A Measure Of China Provincial Urbanization Level And Its Comparative Study

The development level of urbanization is an important manifestation of developmentin a country.18th Party Congress of China put reward New urbanization planning, whichmake urbanization into a new level. Chinese experts and scholars more focused ondiscussing the development pattern, the path choice of the development, the relationshipbetween industrialization and urbanization, the relationship between economic growth andurbanization, etc. These studies are mainly for the theoretical research, quantitative researchon China’s urbanization development situation and c omparative research on regionallevel are relatively less. We just need a profound understanding of the urbanizationdevelopment level of each area in our country, in order to better promote the newurbanization road. Therefore, based on the related theory and development status ofChinese urbanization, this paper make a full range measurement and Comparative analysisof31provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in China since twenty-first Century,providing a complete reference for the further development of the city, which has realisticsignificance.In this paper, according to the connotation of city development and the compositeindex evaluation principle, we establish a comprehensive evaluation index system ofurbanization development level from four aspects of economy, population, environment,society established, covering4first level indexes and20two level indexes. And use AHP todetermine the index weight, select the specific data of2001,2005,2009and2013of31provinces, making a comprehensive measure for the level of development of urbanizationand comparative analysis.The results show that the speed of development of China urbanization has graduallyrisen. But our country is vast in territory; geographical conditions, resource endowment,history and culture are not the same in different zone, which make a big difference ofurbanization level in different provinces. At the same time, the speed of economicdevelopment is obviously higher than that of population, environment and socialurbanization level. Therefore, the future development of the urbanization should payattention to the coordination and unity between regions, and match the economic with otheraspects, to do a truly change for the urbanization of people.
