With the rapid economic development and improvement of people’s consumptionlevel, the automobile consumption is no longer luxury consumption. In ordinaryfamily, car has become a daily transport. While sales increased year by year, theproduction capacity of automobile production enterprises are increasing. The2008financial crisis, the Chinese auto market is thriving, have been rising, and in2009became the largest car sales. In the context of the global automobile market was in thedoldrums while the Chinese market favored, global automobile manufacturerspaidunprecedented attention on the Chinese market. In the face of opportunities andchallenges, the major automobile manufacturers recognized the important mission oftheir own in which the special period.Experienced several times to changes in the competitive landscape, ShanghaiGeneral Motors already has a benchmark position in the market, but at the same timethey are facing competitive pressures from Toyota and all kinds of potentiallycompetitive enterprises. In order to seize the opportunity to promote further stable andbooming of the market position, the use of Lean Logistics means to strengthen thelogistics management has become one of the most important task.As the domestic auto industry was first to introduce the concept of leanproduction, lean logistics enterprises, SGM has some experience in theimplementation of Lean Logistics, the paper first introduced in the company in whichthe internal and external environment as well as parts logistics development overview,and reviewed relevant literature on this basis. Secondly, from the current situation ofthe Shanghai General Motors parts’ inbound logistics, it introduced purchasingmanagement, warehouse management, distribution management, etc. and found someshortcomings in the basic framework of the general-purpose logistics and relatedprocesses, from the more sophisticated perspective found that the main problem of theShanghai General Motors parts’ inbound logistics is: demand forecasting capability,vendor management, internal coordination, and specific issues may be facing in themilk run. Then from the perspective of supplier management, lean production, leandistribution, the advanced experience of the Shanghai General Motors Corporationhas to be introduced, and aiming on the demand issues, supplier issues, recycling pickup the specific issues, the paper presents the relevant recommendations for furtherdevelopment of Lean Logistics in SGM, and provide some experience to other carmanufacturers for reference.
