Six sigma is a type of management, which focuses on customer-oriented; it bases onrealistic data, aims to “0defect”. Its core is through a set of statistics as the basis of dataanalysis, measurement, cause study, improvement and control the action efficiency; makethe enterprise in operation ability to achieve the best state. To implement six sigmarequest continue improvement by using strict quality tool and method (DMAIC), itfocuses on the root cause of defect, put the resource into understanding, improvementand using technological method to control defect, to meet customer request for productquality. It means six sigma would get the highest economic benefit by raise customersatisfaction and faithfulness, and by less cost of product quality. This paper aimed at the product quality control and management problem in theprocess of producing hard disc magnetic head, we applied the advanced qualitymanagement system–Lean Six Sigma Management, following up its concept by usingDMAIC–the classic analysis and problem solve method–and others quality tools tostudy and take action; we focus on the key factors which made severe quality issue in itsfabrication process and then did an in-depth study. The approach in technical keepsfinding problems, analyzing problems and solving the problems, focus on how tooptimize the process and improve the magnetic head’s quality rapidly and effectively, improved magnetic head’s reliability yield. In this case, we not only solve the problem effectively, but also make six sigmalanguage inside team member’s mind, with spread and extending the activity of qualitycontrol, it enhance the staff’s satisfaction, pride of achievement, which enhance theworking efficiency sequentially.
