Knowledge Management is the hot field of management after1990s. More and morecompanies regard knowledge management as one of the core business strategy. Icompany is the leader of knowledge management area. It focus on personal careerdevelopment and creates a good environment for learning and development for employees.As a part of I company, G department is a developing department in I company. Itsimplementation level of knowledge management is lower than other same leveldepartments. Knowledge management should be implemented in the department toimprove knowledge management theory and practices level of employees’.This thesis takes G department as research sample, according to the basic theoriesand methods of knowledge management, questionnaire survey is designed based onconsidering different factors of knowledge management to positioning and look for rootcause of department knowledge management status. G department improves knowledgemanagement level from organizational structure and environment, business process andknowledge management tool and platform. AHP is the common decision and analysismethod to analyze their importance and consistency of knowledge managementperformance evaluation indexes. Business Process is the core work of department.Knowledge management is embedded in business process to help employeesimplementing knowledge management in the normal course of business, Implementingknowledge management has become a natural thing, and knowledge map as a tool foracquire knowledge is mentioned in this paper. Lotus Notes and Community Supportknowledge management as knowledge management tool and platform, all the explicitknowledge includes documents, videos, audios are all stored in knowledge database, it isconvenient to search and acquire knowledge. Knowledge database is going to be updatedfrom employees to get new knowledge at the same time to provide knowledge.Furthermore, in order to strengthen exchanges and expand the requirement for knowledge,Community becomes more and more popular than Lotus Notes to obtain knowledge andexchange ideas from foreign experts.The research methods includes questionnaires; theory and practice, integration of qualitative and quantitative are adopted in this thesis. Thisthesis is the research of knowledge management practice in one department; I believe it isa good reference for others to implement knowledge management.
