Since China’s reform and opening up, the continuous improvement of people’sliving standard, the emergence of a variety of chronic diseases and the enhancementof people’s health care consciousness, the medical device market demand has beengrowing fast, which promotes the development of the medical device industry. As isknown to us all, for enterprises, whether their products could meet the market demandmakes big difference with whether they could occupy the market. Meanwhile, in orderto keep their own unparalleled competitiveness, the research and development of newproducts must be a continuous process. Thus, a process of new product developmenthas to be set up, which plays an important role to coordinate and standardize theprocedure. J company, as an electronics manufacturing services provider, working onproduct research and development for customers to promote its future manufacturingservices. So product development sustainability of the projects must be kept, whosepremise is to ensure that product development meet customer demand and medicaldevice be designed in high speed, high quality and low cost. Only in this way, can asteady stream of subsequent manufacturing operations be coming.This paper analyzes and improves the existing process of medical powerproducts’ development of J company from the view of process aiming at shorteningthe project cycle. That is, this paper is to promote the rapid development of theproduct. In the BPI in new medical power development program of J company, at first,this paper demonstrates its necessity and academic background of this topic from theaspects of industry developing and J company’s own development. Secondly itintroduces relevant theories of the new product development project, as well as themethods of process optimization and implementation, which act as the guidance forthis paper. Thirdly, it combines the actual project of J company, which is the newmedical power development program, and introduces its structure and operationprocess more detailed. What comes next is to set up models with IDEF0modellingmethod from many levels, which is based on the introduction of the practical process.And then it identifies the current problems and solve them pointedly and theoptimized process is got. After that, this paper uses ExtendSim software to simulatethe actual processes and the one after optimized. During this stage, the actualoperation is joined in the logic module, and the content of optimization is joined into the parameter setting module. At the same time, the discrete event is described theactual operation procedure of the program, and the continuous event simulation isused to eliminate the randomness of time and get the typical running time which isused to compare with each other to analyze the result of this process improvement. Atlast, this paper put forward some specific measures to ensure the new process to betaken into practice, which are listed below. J company could use R&D efficiency asthe guidance and encourage employees to train in parallel to fulfill BPI. And Jcompany could set up a team to manage and supervise the implementation of thecorresponding process. Last but not the least, J company could set up the PDCA cyclewhich contains the idea of continuous optimization to promote the continuousimprovement of the process of the new medical power development program in Jcompany.This paper is concentrating on the analysis and optimization of J company newproduct development project operation process. It is helpful for J company’s actualproject process. It may be helpful for other similar new product research anddevelopment process as well.
