With the rise of the creative economy worldwide, gradual transition fromindustrial economy form to knowledge economy form in developed countries,increasing emphasis on the development of the creative economy in china, creativegoods trade has become an important means to promote economic growth, changesin development, enhance national competitiveness. Intellectual property plays anincreasingly important role in the promotion of intellectual innovation, economicdevelopment and cultural prosperity and so on in the knowledge economy era. Withthe deterioration of the conditions of international trade, various forms of tradebarriers appears, intellectual property protection as a new trade barriers, has attractedmore and more attention by every country. It is an important opportunity foreconomic transformation and upgrading of industrial structure to China, face theopportunities and challenges of knowledge economy and globalization, only continueto improve creative goods trade competitiveness, improve the formation, protectionand accumulation process of intellectual property, targeted to consolidate anddevelop creative goods trading partners to finding a better position in the globalindustrial restructuring and division of labor. View of this, to explore the relationshipbetween the protection of intellectual property and creative goods trade of China, hasgreat theoretical and practical significance.Firstly, the research of China’s creative goods development status, comparisonwith United States, United Kingdom, Japan, the creative economic developmentmature states, China’s creative goods trade exist a single export structure, and lowadded value, the overall trade competitive, mainly design category, labor-intensivecreative goods, other types of knowledge and technology-intensive creative goodsuncompetitive. And then, theoretically analyzed the relationship between theprotection of intellectual property and China’s creative goods trade, based on theexpansion and modified gravity model, empirically analyzes using panel data ofChina’s creative goods trade exports123countries between2003and2012. The results show that, importing countries strengthening of intellectual propertyprotection is conducive to China’s creative goods export trade, compared with thegeneral merchandise, China’s creative goods trade is required higher and moresensitive to intellectual property protection. Considering imitate threateningsituations, this positive effect is still significant. Compared with the level of thelegislative protection of intellectual property, the level of enforcement of intellectualproperty protection plays a more positive role of creative goods trade. The study alsofound that, the economic development and the market scale of China and importingcountries have a positive effect; geographical distance is a negative effect, languageis a positive effect. Finally, estimated export potential of China’s creative goods in2012, found61countries trade fully and62countries have trade potential, theexport market is too concentrated, China’s creative goods export market has hugepotential. Against the problems of China’s creative goods trade, put forwardsuggestions to enhance the competitiveness of China’s creative goods trade. |
