Broad banding as a new salary management theory born with the organizational structureflatting movement and process reengineering movement in the1990s.many American companiessuccessfully applied. American companies mature application to this theory and evaluated it.Many Chinese companies using the theory follow siemens and china Netcom Company at thebeginning of this century. Broad banding becomes the most popular salary theory in china. Broadbanding has been used in Chinese companies has more than ten years. But it has not beensuccessful in china. Because not all of company sues to broad banding, there are some applicableconditions of it.In this paper, research based on case studies and related theories. The suitable environmentof broad banding have analyzed based on its advantages and disadvantages. Then, the authorintroduces the application of broad banding in Chinese companies and analyzed the reason forfailure and then advises some measures to improve the applicability in Chinese enterprises. Atthe end of the paper, the salary system in TBB Company was investigated in detail as a caseexample. The study shows TBB Company must adjust the management to promote theimplementation of broad banding.
