This dissertation investigates work-life conflicts encountered by high status Chineseworkers. The term status is far and wide examined in the organizational literature, and arecent interest in the topic confirms to its possibility as a field of study. This paper provides areview of existing studies on status in organizations, focusing mainly on high statusemployees.Holding a high status brings a lot of benefits, however, expectations which are put on thembring their balance between work and personal life into a conflict.
