Abstract/Summary:
With the products, management and service concepts of foreign petroleum enterpriseswere introduced into China, the China petroleum companies must face more and more severecompetitions, the impacts on their sales management become unavoidable as well. In order toeffectively cope with the market competition, the H Petroleum Corporation has adoptedmulti-dimensional steering performance appraisal management system, to continuouslyenhance the competitiveness. Through analysis of the H Petroleum Corporation applying themultidimensional performance management system, this article will explore the ways andmethods of improving the performance management level of petroleum enterprises.We studied the background of this project, the causes and necessity of implementation ofH Petroleum Corporation, and discussed the basic contents, evaluation mechanism, correctivefeedback mechanism, examination mechanism and training mechanism. And also, weevaluated the H Petroleum Corporation’s multidimensional steering performance managementsystem.With the implementation of supervisory management system, the H PetroleumCorporation enhanced the management and service level of their gas stations, and improvedthe employee satisfaction and customer loyalty as well. The company’s operational efficiencyhas significantly improved. The coordinated development of economic benefit, social benefitand competitiveness has been realized. However, we found some important problems of thesystem, such as the unscientific evaluation index, lack of communication among the topleadership, managers and frontline employees and the low discrimination of examinationresults. The assessment results were influenced by the examiners’ quality, ability and workattitude. The staff qualities of gas station are not high, and the turnover is much high.On the basis of summing up the successful experience and facing problems, we putforward nine countermeasures and suggestions, such as setting some performance appraisalindex scientifically, opening and timely feedback the appraisal results, enhancing the communication between the examiners and examinees, increasing the trainings for staff, etc.
