Corporate culture has formed its own characteristics in private enterprises based upon the background of national culture. It is culture that affects thinking, experiences and behaviors of managers and employees in a corporate environment. These cultural precedents consist of many elements, some of them are values, symbols and artifacts, behaviors, heroes and the working environment. These elements of culture greatly influence lifestyles and working efficiency of the company staff and managers that are aware of these cultural expectations see an improvement in communication, relationships and decision-making. As a system, this corporate culture has to be in balance and harmony, otherwise its very existence is threatened. After China opened up to the world after a great period of reform, its economy started to grow very rapidly. Chinese products are produced at a large scale and exported to most countries around the world. Ukraine is one of the major importers of Chinese products, and also cooperates with China in many strategic economic and scientific projects.More and more, as businesses from these two countries look for cooperation and mutual understanding, misunderstandings often occur due to deeply rooted cultural differences. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze different ways of doing business in China and Ukraine. In this study, we have chosen two companies to effectively illustrate this comparison-Haier and SCM group. This thesis introduces the definition, characteristics and functions of corporate culture and Geert Hofstedeā€™s cultural assessment theory, it analyzes the culture of two representative companies from China and Ukraine using quantitative methods of DEMATEL and system Hexie assessment, and summarizes similarities and differences between the two corporate cultures, giving some ideas for international researchers and businessman.
