The Development Situation Problems And Countermeasures Of SMES In Yanbian

Since China’s reforming and opening up implemented30years ago, the Socialist market economic system has developed to the full extent and achieved great success starting from scratch. As the main carrier and core strength of the market economy, the development status of enterprises directly affect the development of China’s Socialist market economy, thus adding influence to the development of national welfare and the people’s livelihood. Among various enterprises, the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) has gained a wide range of attention due to its numerous quantity, prominent influence and diversified business models. By the end of2010, the main business revenue of the SMEs in Yanbian has surpassed one hundred billion for the first time and the total tax has accounted for1/3of that of the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture becoming an important propeller of economy development in Yanbian. Additionally, SMEs also play an important role in optimizing the economic structure, promoting employment growth and increasing the average income of the residents. Though compared with the enterprises in the central area, the SMEs in Yanbian have some problems, like starting from a very low base, having small volume and weak vitality, which also indicate wide development space and prospect.This paper will systematically put forward opinions and suggestions for SMEs in Yanbian Autonomous Prefecture concerning rapid development of SMEs based on several theories on SMEs and the field research on the current development of SMEs in Yanbian. SMEs should make full use of the geographical advantages of Yanbian, combine the geographical advantage of the Northeast China, highlight the developmental advantages of the national border areas and vitalize both domestic and international resources. And with the guidance of the government, the SMEs will improve their own quality, realize the development of industrialization, specialization and intellectualization, thus promoting the development of the whole area covering Changchun, Jilin and Tumen. The development of SMEs will also play as a propeller for the international cooperation in the Tumen River Area and the exploitation of "Golden Triangle" in Northeast Asia and eventually adding great impact on the comprehensive building of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
