World trade center usually results from the nation’s strategic plan,and usually animportant strategic platform for world competition and globalization、resourcerelocation、market development. In April27th2013, the government of Qingdao hadofficially opened a urban planning to build a international trade centre. The Outline ofConstruction Qingdao International Trade Center (2013-2020) was released, planningto forge Qingdao into regional world trade centre of North-East Asia.The thesis is composed of six parts: introduction, and chapter one to five. Startingwith ways and ideas to build Qingdao a world trade center, then analyzing thesuperiorities and disadvantages of this issue, finally coming up with advices andsuggestions by comparing to the New York city.Chapter one expounds the thesis of world trade center, and explores the essence andcarrier of the thesis from the angle of regional open theory and city developing theory.Chapter two refers to the New York city, which has a lot in common with Qingdao,analyzing the process of building the world trade center, giving a detailed introductionto traffic transportation and industry construction. Six lessons are drawn: reasonableratio of industry, huge amount of trade volume both at home and abroad, adequatesupporting service, relatively high internationalization, a complete market system aswell as sustainable comprehensive strength for development. Chapter three and four compares pros and cons during the construction of Qingdaoworld trade center mainly in static state and crosswise state. That is, affirming theresults in traffic transportation, upgrading industry structure, infrastructureconstruction and human resource development while analyzing the disadvantages inQingdao’s high-tech industries objectively.Chapter five gives suggestions on building Qingdao a world trade center based on thecharacteristics and developing process of the city. Taking the New York city as anexample, the point of penetration would be transportation improvement, betterinvestment environment, talent strategy,emphasis on E-business while push forwardthe service trade and application of marketing diversification.
