Study On Problems And Solutions To The Development Of Urbanization In Qingdao

The practice of Building socialism with Chinese Characteristics has proved that thenew four carriages to accelerate China economic development are industrialization,informatization, urbanization and agricultural modernization, which will become basicway to realize modernization of the whole country. Urbanization is the key aspect ofthese new four modernizations and is regarded as a new engine for China’s futuredevelopment and the biggest potential for domestic demands expansion, through whicheconomic development will be strongly improved and national economy will maintainsustainable and stable progression. Qingdao, as a coastal city open up to the world, justkept the percentage of urbanization at69%. This situation seems discordant with newstyled industrialization and ill-matched with Qingdao’s current status. Meanwhile, itdemonstrates that there is a large gap between Qingdao and other domestic developedcities and regions in terms of urbanization level. By far, Qingdao is standing in a capitalperiod when we are taking the lead in developing scientific development and pursuingleap forward to the development of blue economy in order to accelerate the constructionof international modernized city with livability and happiness. To accelerate new-typeurbanization, further optimize urban spacial arrangement and promote urbancomprehensive bearing capacity and radiant driving force are objective demands fordeeply implementing the requirement of the18th congress of the CPC, striving for abalanced development of the whole city, establishment of three functional areas aroundJiaozhou Bay, taking Dagu River as the axis and extension of city reach, improvement ofeco-environment and boost of cluster development and pushing forward the building ofBlue Economic Zone. In addition, it is the lasting motive power to further transformmode and adjust structure, to inspire domestic demands up to the largest degree and toenhance economic stable and fast development. What’s more, it is the imperativerequirement to optimize, to a wider range, deeper layer and higher level, economic, social, regional as well as urban and rural structure and speed up integration of regions, urbanand rural areas. Therefore, how to solve the coming problems we will face up inurbanization progress seems to be a prominent and pragmatic subject for urbanizationresearch. Under such circumstance, it is of important theoretical significance andpractical value to take Qingdao’s urbanization as an example, to positively find out theexisting questions and problems and to explore pertinent countermeasures.Based on the summary of foreign and domestic scholars’ researches, this thesis haselaborated some theories related to urbanization and the necessity to develop China’surbanization, used foreign urbanization modes for reference and analyzed Qingdaourbanization’s current situation and strength, weakness, opportunities and threats with themethod of SWOT. Finally, the writer has raised countermeasures aiming at Qingdaourbanization’s current situation and existing problems as follows.First,to design the urbanspacial arrangement for a balanced development of the whole city;To make good use ofBlue Economic Zone construction to further optimize industrial distribution;To planurban infrastructure facility construction as a whole for better livable environment;Tointegrate urban and rural social undertaking for upgrade of urban comprehensive bearingcapacity;To promote household registration system reform and rural land systeminnovation, which is of great theoretical significance and practical value.
