Research On The Effect Of The Rural Population Aging On Agricultural Economy In Shandong Province

Population aging is a process which age structure of population tends to be older, it is a dynamic process which as the decrease of the number of young population, and the increase of the number of old population, the proportion of old population in the whole social population continues to grow. The formation of this phenomenon has two reasons. The first, with the development of our country’s economy, and the effective implementation of family planning, the rate of birth and the rate of death have dropped dramatically, the proportion of elderly population is increasing. The second, as the development of urbanization, many high-quality labors in countryside transfer to cities, this makes children and old people stay in countryside, and exacerbates the degree of rural population aging in Shandong province. As an important part of the national economy and department of labor resources supply, agriculture occupies an important position in national economy of Shandong province. But rural population aging is bound to affect the supply of labor for agricultural production, and have profound effect on social and economic’s development in Shandong province. The quickening pace of industrialization and urbanization, a large number of adults in rural areas move into cities and towns, old people become the main force of agricultural production in rural areas, in the case of low degree of agricultural mechanization, it inevitably affects the local agricultural development. This paper uses two different angles to research the effect of the rural population aging on agricultural economy in Shandong province. The first angel is the study about evolution of Chinese population age structure. The second is to study the effect of rural population aging on agricultural economy in Shandong province, this paper uses theoretical and empirical analysis.Here, the writer will introduce the paper’s main content. The first chapter is introduction, including this paper’s research background, research purpose, research significance, research ideas and research content, and possible innovation points and deficiencies. The second chapter is the theoretical foundation and literature review. The theory foundation is based on theories of the relationship of demographic factors and economic growth, the literature review including related literature review of population aging and agricultural economy, population aging and economic growth. The third chapter analyzes the present situation of population aging in Shandong province and its reasons. There are four aspects to analyze in this chapter. First, define the population aging. Then, introduce the dynamic evolution process of population aging in our country. Third, analyze the present situation of the rural population aging in Shandong province and explore the causes of the rural population aging. Finally, summarize the characteristics of the rural population aging in Shandong province. The fourth chapter is normative analysis of the effect of the rural population aging on the agricultural economy in Shandong province. This chapter includes the following contents:the development stage and the characteristics of the present stage of agricultural production in Shandong province, the short-term impact and long-term impact of the rural population aging on agricultural economy in Shandong province. The fifth chapter is the empirical analysis on the effect of rural population aging on the agricultural economy in Shandong province. Including select model and set variables, and collect data; then analyze the specific meaning in according to the results of the empirical. The sixth chapter is the end of this article, including research conclusion and policy suggestion to the further development of agricultural economy in Shandong province.
