From Ming and Qing Dynasties to the period of the republic of china, the Hunanand Jiangxi North central border area maintained stable administrative division, andforged the formation of the regional pattern of four governments between Hunan andJiangxi. Relying on the population mobility and economic development within theregion, the water and land transportation continued to develop and improve,businessmen never stop dealing.Therefore it promoted the process of integration ofregional economy.In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Benefiting from the trade patternof Canton Sysem,four governments between Hunan and Jiangxi were located in thetrade network, town economic were prosperous. Since the modern times, with thechange of the trade pattern, four government location advantages lost gradually, theregional market was also subject to strong shock. Facing the crisis and challenge,Hunan and Jiangxi Province opened the modernization process respectively.Becauseof the gap from economic foundation,social environment and policy efforts, themodernization level of Jiangxi was far behind Hunan. Through the statistics of freightof the trade area between Jiangxi and Hunan province in northwestern Jiangxi, it cansee the relationship between trade two of the province’s reverse clearly,it also reflectsthe marginalization trend in modern Jiangxi.This paper tries to regard The trade area between Jiangxi and Hunan province innorthwestern Jiangxi as the breakthrough point, to outline the historic development offour governments’ regional development from Ming and Qing Dynasties to the periodof the republic of china, through historical information of the merchant, trade routes,the cargo to view the imbalance of regional economic development.The full text isdivided into three parts:The first part introduces the four governments’ regional pattern and land andwater transportation, combined with the geographical conditions and commercialchannel development, highlights the four palace superior location.The second part uses the Ming and Qing Dynasties changes in regionalpopulation flow and social atmosphere as guide,to comprehensive connect businessactivities, handicraft industry development, the flow of goods and town network tofully demonstrate the prosperity of the regional economy, and unbalanced situation in internal development.The third part uses important historical events of five ports, Yuezhou andChangsha opening as the breakthrough point, through the analysis of the process ofmodernization trade route changes, market impact and regional trade, combined withthe changes of data to examines the economical development and the gap between thetwo province, and then to explore the regional imbalance and the improvementmechanism of factors influencing the development.
