The Study On Development Problems Of Industry Agglomeration Area In Xuchang City

This paper regards the status and development of industry agglomeration area inXuchang City as the research object. It takes the scientific development as guidanceand puts theory into practice. It combines qualitative analysis and quantitativeanalysis, comparative analysis and analytical methods that strives to find a way topromote scientific development of industrial parks in Xuchang City.This paper summarizes relevant literature and major theoretical perspectives onindustrial agglomeration both home and abroad, and on this basis, it analyzes internaland external factors of the development of industrial agglomeration. The conclusionpoints out that the general models of industrial clustering areas are spontaneousmodel and government guidance model. Industry agglomeration area in Xuchang Citybelongs to the latter. The paper introduces the development of industry agglomerationarea in Xuchang City first and attempts to employ Michael Porter’s theory of thenew competitive advantage and "Diamond System" as the theoretical tool. It analyzesthe real basis for the development of industry agglomeration area in Xuchang Cityand finds problems in four aspects as in production factors, demand conditions,related and supporting industries, corporate strategy and competitive environment.From the perspective of government, it analyzes the reasons and points out fivetargeted pieces of advice: making clear of industrial development orientation,breaking the bottleneck elements, strengthening investment, improving themanagement level of service, and establishing the development evaluation system topromote scientific development of industry agglomeration area in Xuchang City.The main innovations of this paper are: First, according to the latest progress inthe theory of industrial clustering, combined with new situations and new problems, itconducts systematic analysis of new opportunities and new challenges for thedevelopment of industry agglomeration area. Second, the analysis seeks to usescientific methods to propose effective advice to the development problems ofindustry agglomeration area in Xuchang City and offer references for addressing common problems existing in city-level industry agglomeration area.
