Nowadays, it’s a serious problem that new industrial land has a large proportion in construction land and is still in inefficient use. Paper has a study on the intensive use problems of new industrial project land. This study is meaningful for the government to develop policies and measures more pertinently to improving intensive level, controlling new industrial land area and protecting livelihood land supply.Paper exemplifies in Zhejiang Province, and mainly discusses the intensive level variation of new industrial project land between1999and2012based on large amounts of statistical data. At the same time, paper does some research about the reason why these changes occur between various times, different regions and different industries. Moreover, paper investigates the impact of intensive level variation on project management policy, supply of industrial land and new industrial projects’area. Based on all above, paper makes some advices to promote the intensive use of new industrial project land. These results have a good reference value for new industrial project’s management.Ultimately concluded that:(1) Intensive use of new industrial project land has continuously improved in Zhejiang Province between1999and2012, but there are variations between different regions and different industries. The variations are principally affected by economic condition, geographical location, land policy, land planning, industrial feature and market factor.(2) The improvement of intensive use in new industrial project land brings a new requirement to revise index of industrial project control standards, and it has also promoted reducing the amount of industrial land supply, accompanied by a decreasing proportion. At the same time, it has promoted area increase of new industrial projects.(3)Although industrial land supply is reducing and the structure of construction land has been optimized, industrial land supply in Zhejiang Province is still excessive compared with developed countries. On the other hand, most of new industrial projects belong to low-level industry, and the growth of new project’s intensive use in some areas is too slow.
