Electronic Information Industry Competitiveness Of Chongqing

As a hi-tech industry, the electronic information industry makes a greatcontribution to the development of industry and economy of China. And its competencehas directly influenced on the overall competitiveness of a country or a region.Chongqing，a key metropolis for the strategic development of mid-west China, has setup electronic information industry as the mainstay for the sustainable growth of itsregional industry. Thanks to the support by some relevant policies of the government, itselectronic information industry has taken on sizable shape. However, there still existlots of problematic factors setting back its industrial competitiveness and sustainabledevelopment. Therefore, how to heighten its competitiveness is an urgent research task.Seeing from the relevant documents and materials, the research on the electroniccompetitive power is not enough, let alone those on the competition of informationindustry in Chongqing. Therefore, the significance of this study which is based on therelated statistical data will evaluate and analyze the Competitive Power of electronicinformation industry and could try to find the reasons why there exists big differencesbetween Chongqing and other provinces and also find the factors which impactindustrial competitiveness. Finally, a series of suggestions would be come up with topromote the development of electronic information industry in Chongqing.This study is based on relevant documents and economic theory, which issummarized the relevant research by scholars. Firstly, the research will clarify theConnotation of industrial competitiveness and the concept of electronic informationindustry. Besides, it also points out the current situation and problem about thedevelopment of electronic information industry. Secondly, from qualitative analysis andquantitative analysis, the factors that have influenced the industrial competitivenessincan be got a comprehensive explanation.Specific to see, by qualitative analysis, theright indicators system could be build according to evaluation index which have impactthe competitiveness from different factors. At the same time, judging from collectingnational28provinces statistics data, it is clear to know the main reasons anddisadvantages which affect the development of electronic information industry throughfactor analysis. And all of those are helpful to take measures to improve the competitiveness.In addition, based on the overall analysis for28provinces’ electronic informationindustry, there are some conclusions which are estimated through positive analysis andcomparative analysis as following: in the first place, the competitiveness of electronicinformation industry in Chongqing is above the middle level. Specific to see, the sizesand benefit factors of industry have ranged in the middle and the enterprises andefficiency factors have reached the top place in China. However, it does not mean thatthere is not without disadvantages. For example, the scales and benefits need improving.And those require to expand the scale of industry, bring forth new ideas, improve thetechnological capacity and improve industrial chain competition. In addition, it alsoneeds strengthening the interregional cooperation and increasing political supports.
