Electronic information industry is developed on the basis of electronic science and technology development and application on, along with the mass production and use of large scale integrated circuits and computers, electronic information industry after World War II to flourish in the world. China’s reform and opening up three decades with the world economy continues to depth integration, electronic information industry has grown into a pillar industry of China’s key development. Guangdong always attached importance to the development of electronic information industry, at industrial scale and industrial efficiency have achieved good results, the electronic information industry output has ranked first in the country’s provinces. However, due to the post-crisis era of global economic downturn, the domestic economy downward pressure, Guangdong’s electronic information industry in the critical period of transformation and upgrading of traditional strengths weakened, lack of innovation and lack of capacity constraints of its own core technology of electronic information industry competitiveness improved. Therefore, in the current generation of information technology to accelerate the development of the "Internet +" under the new form of emerging background, scientific, objective assessment of Guangdong’s electronic information industry competitiveness, proved its competitive strengths and weaknesses, to ensure the comprehensive competitiveness of Guangdong’s electronic information industry force long-standing leadership has great strategic significance, but also can provide useful lessons for the current industrial transformation and upgrading in Guangdong Province.In this paper, a comprehensive and systematic grasp of the actual current situation of China’s electronic information industry development, focusing on the evaluation of Guangdong Province, the electronic information industry competitiveness. Firstly, the electronic information industry competitiveness theoretical system and research model, the electronic information industry competitiveness evaluation system and methods of analysis and research; and then considering the electronic information industry characteristics and industry competitiveness factors on the basis of constructed easier electronic information industry competitiveness evaluation index system to obtain data, and using factor analysis-TOPSIS method, by SPSS19.0 software, Guangdong and other provinces and cities to horizontal comparison, evaluation of the electronic information industry in Guangdong Province market competitiveness, innovation each category of electronic information industry competitiveness and comprehensive competitiveness competitiveness, increase competitiveness, cost competitiveness in many provinces and cities nationwide ranking to obtain electronic information industry competitiveness in Guangdong and other provinces of the gap and the advantages and disadvantages.Concluded by theoretical analysis and empirical test: the comprehensive competitiveness of Guangdong’s electronic information industry in the country ranked first in many provinces and cities, thanks to establish itself in the market competitiveness of great advantage; slightly less than in innovation competitiveness, increase competitiveness and cost competitiveness ranking ranking on the list. So at the end the author proposed to adhere to innovation-driven development, increasing industrial R & D investment, to strengthen the guidance and support of preferential policies, electronic information enterprises to reduce operating costs and other policy recommendations, and ultimately help to achieve sound and rapid development of Guangdong’s electronic information industry.
