Catering industry is an industry with a long history. With Chinese economic and social development, people’s living standards improve, food and beverage industry as a traditional pillar industry, the third industry in the national cities presents an unprecedented prosperous picture. Modern catering industry is also in a beautiful environment, equipment and comfortable, and perfect service, outstanding product flavor in the direction of development. Under this trend, yanbian ethnic restaurant industry also had the very big development. From a few to up to now, since the childhood, from coarse to fine, has set up a series of frame for the Korean ethnic restaurants, cultivate the Korean ethnic characteristics of the catering industry brands, driving the development of the related industries, promote the renewal of concept of food consumption.This article mainly from the definition, classification of clear the restaurant industry, summarized the characteristics of the catering industry, expounds the important function of the restaurant industry in the national economy, and national characteristics of catering industry was introduced. Then from the origin, background and characteristics of the development of catering industry at home and abroad, this paper expounds the present situation of the catering industry both at home and abroad, and the present situation and advantages of yanbian ethnic restaurants to do the research.
