Study On Social Control Of Technology Under The Background Of New Media

With the rapid development of technology, human society has undergoneenormous changes, people’s living changes with each passing day and the quality ofpeople’s life is higher and higher. At the same time, technology has also brought aseries of negative effects such as the bad ecological environment, energy crisis, foodsafety problems, public health problems and ethical issues of life. So the researchabout how to control technology has become an urgent problem which is unable toavoid.The traditional social control methods of technology in the age have their ownrelative limitations and hysteresis qualities considering the rapid development oftechnology. So how to enhance the control of technologiees and enrich social controlmethods of technology in the new surroundings have become an urgent researchsubject. With the extensive application of new media in every field of our country,this paper studied social control problems of technology with new medias as abackground, starting with the basic connotation of the new medias and social controlof technology to explore the characteristics of social control in the new mediasbackground. This paper discussed the principles, methods and processes of socialcontrol by analyzing the operational mechanism of social control in the new mediasbackground. And it ailso proposed some suggestions against the problems of socialcontrol in the new medias background. We should strengthen public awareness of theuse of new medias to control technology、improve new medias and also the policiesand laws related to social control of technology、 enhance the social control oftechnology、develop emerging medias、enhance international cooperation on socialcontrol of technology in an effort to reduce the problems in the process of socialcontrol of technology, to achieve the purpose of suppressing technology alienation, topromote the healthy development of technology and achieve the real benefit of thewhole human beings from and the purpose of promoting harmonious developmentamong technology, human beings and society.
