With the development of China’s knowledge economy and the acceleration of theprocess of Economic globalization, high-tech enterprises are facing more complex andvolatile environment and fiercer competition. To promote their competitiveness,enterprises must improve their level of strategic human resource management. Asperformance management is the core part of human resource management; it plays animportant role in strategy implementation, core competitiveness cultivation andbusiness performance promotion etc. As a high-tech enterprise, ABC Company hassome problems in performance management, which prevents the company’s furtherdevelopment and must be solved as soon as possible.This paper follows the logical order of research background, researchsignificance, theoretical basis, literature review, the analysis of present performancemanagement condition, problems and relevant causes, improvement program designand its implementation procedures. Firstly, using the methods of Literature Research,Field Research and In-depth Interviews, defining the concept of the study andreviewing the relevant research and theoretical basis such as Goal Congruence andIncentive Theory, this paper will analysis the problems of Performance Managementof ABC Company. Next, combining the company’s strategic goals with the principlesof performance management improvement, this paper desgins the program of ABCCompany from the perspective of performance management improvement.Furthermore, this paper proposes the implementation procedures. At last, theobstacles which may encounter in the implementation process are analyzed, andrelevant safeguards are proposed.Based on the analysis, this paper draws the conclusion as following: First, theproblems existing in the performance management of ABC Company includesinadequate the performance management strategy orientation, the lack of scientificperformance indicator system, single performance appraisal methods, lack ofperformance communication mechanism and complaint mechanisms, the inadequateuse of performance results and feedback. The main reasons are: lack of advancedperformance management philosophy, scientific performance appraisal indicators andcycle as well as lack of performance management culture etc. To solve the problems,the company must follow the rules of people orientation, objectiveness and fairness, performance management serving for the strategy, the common development ofemployee and enterprise, and the process of performance management improvementincludes strategic goals decomposition,making performance management plans,designing managerial positions,improving performance assessment methods andoptimizing performance appraisal objects, setting performance appraisal standard,improving performance appraisal supervision system, establishing a appeal systemand increasing the application of the results. As for the obstacles which mayencounter in the implementation process, the company must conquer them by securingsupport from top management, improving performance appraisal appeal system andbuilding a performance management information platform etc. and provide somereference and suggestions for other high-tech enterprises. The program may not onlypromote the level of performance management of ABC Company, accelerating itsfurther development, but also provide some reference and suggestions for otherhigh-tech enterprises to improve their performance management system.
