Paper form in banking is an important medium of communication in networkbank service process, collect s customers’ data information for the bank, meanwhilebecomes an important evidence when customer handling banking business. Itsavailability directly determines whether the business transaction process goessmoothly. Paper form in banking involves personal privacy and money, and adiminutive mistake may cause significant losses to individual or unit, so banking asksthe customer fill the form accurately. In china each and every big branch, due to theunreasonable paper form design, customers in the process of completing this formneed to constantly ask bank lobby service personnel, and it’s common to find a formneed to be filled in several times to be finally done. As a result, while the cost onunnecessary time, energy and materials is high, the efficiency is low to finish thebusiness process, and what is more serious is that the customer complaints much onthe process which seriously influenced the user experience of the network banking.Even the Bank cope with customers and guide them to fill the form, increasespending on network bank lobby staff, and network input costs increase greatly,however they didn’t realize that the artificial guide action cannot solve thefundamental issue: the unreasonable table format.In this paper, in order to improve the usability of bank paper form, from theperspective of user needs, the author mainly choose the account opening applicationform as the research object, analyses its categories and each type of elements involvedin the design elements and design principles. In the research stage, based on visualperception, cognitive science, information visualization etc, analyzes the web formdesign principles of each element which can helps for paper form, and compared withthe express industry details sheet. In the process of situation investigation, the paperfound and sums up the paper form in the typical problems that exist in the networkbank service process, and the paper form of the Banking of each factor, carried on theanalysis, this paper expounds the web form and the similarities and differences amongvarious properties of the paper form.In the experimental stage, through activities such as role play and focus groupinterview method to collect the paper form usability problems, obtained a large number of users in the user participatory design for paper form design proposal, andexpounds and summarizes the participatory design results.Finally, based on the previous research and the experimental results, the paperputs forward the influence of usability design elements involved in paper form designelements and design principles. In order to combine the design principle and practicebetter, this paper sets an example <account application form used in Bank of China>,improves the design, the output of the A4size paper form template and specifications,and organizes the usability testing from the aspects such as efficiency, error rate, asktimes for performance measurement, this paper is verified in paper form designprinciples to provide the guidance of the paper form usability value.
