Study On Critical Success Factors Of ERP Upgrading

Since the beginning of the new century, the overall level of the enterprise information construction has been rapid developed. At present, the information technology has become an indispensablely important part of enterprise development. As an important symbol of the enterprise information construction, the implementation of ERP, no matter successful or not, will be deemed as upgraded to information technology management. According to the survey,87%of companies with ERP systems, ERP system covered their finance, budget, procurement, materials, human resources, customer, sales, design, and inventory management module. The factors of concern to enterprises in ERP system selection is more focused on the practicality of the business program, more optimization combined with their own issues in the implementation of the ERP system, ERP system technical level is no longer a bottleneck restricting the popularity of ERP applications. For businesses, the completion of the implementation of ERP does not represent the completion of the process of enterprise information, but merely a starting point. With the deepening of the ERP application, management requirement rises, businesses will generate substantial new demand, which requires the original ERP system to be upgraded. ERP system upgrade program includes a two-part, feature upgrades and the adjustment to system deployment. There are more literatures about the analysis on how to successfully implement ERP but not many about how companies do the alternative evaluation for ERP upgrade. This paper intends to study how to evaluate the alternatives to solve the problem of ERP upgrade assessment.As an important part of the enterprise information technology, ERP systems have a large number of research literatures. These documents related to the ERP development and design, development, and almost all aspects of the implementation, application, and evaluation, but I found that the key factor on the the ERP upgrade evaluation literature is almost impossible to retrieve. This article summarizes the key factors for ERP upgrade evaluation, constructs the evaluation model, and uses C Company ERP upgrade to assess the empirical study, intend to provide meaningful guidance for how to evaluate alternatives for enterprise ERP system upgrade.The contribution of this article is mainly in three aspects. First, it expanded the field of study on ERP implementation; Second, this article summarized a set to assess the key factors and scoring method for ERP upgrade alternative evaluation; Third, this paper summarizes the ERP upgrade assessment model of thru an inspection on a telecommunications enterprise,, this provides a useful reference for the enterprise ERP upgrade.
