City Park is the public place for providing leisure, entertainment, fitness to thecitizens. It is the public goods to improve and enhance people’s living environmentand quality of life. It is generally defined as urban infrastructure, direct invested andmonopolized by the government.This article starts from the comparing of the domestic and abroad city parks’construction, the use of market theory, trying to build a market-oriented theoreticalsystem for China’s urban park construction and management, and taking Xiamen ZLpark for example. It explores the implementation of market-oriented methods andsteps to achieve higher level of urban park construction, to cut the public expenditure,and improve public service quality.The first chapter describes the background, meaning, content, and the mainresearch methods of the market research of construction and management of urbanparks.The second chapter introduces the theoretical basis on market-oriented constructionand management of urban parks, focusing on market theory, theory of public goods,public administration theory.Chapter Three case studies through the market-oriented practical basis on city parkconstruction and management at home and abroad; and the comparative analysis ofdomestic and abroad market-oriented mode of urban parks.The fourth chapter takes Xiamen ZL Park for example, Through the environmentalanalysis and status quo analysis of current ZL Park construction and management,and internal and external promotion of implementation of the proposedrecommendations of ZL parkChapter V describes the main research conclusions and future outlook.
