Research Of Quanzhou Science And Technology Museum Management In The View Of Polycentric Governance

This paper analyzes Quanzhou Science and Technology Museummanagement by Polycentric Governance theory. The core of Polycentricgovernance theory is the public manager including government, corporate,nonprofit organizations, etc., forming compound manager. In order to achievethe maximum benefit of citizens and the diverse needs of citizens as the goal,the model of public service using market operation mechanism, publicparticipation as an auxiliary method, achieving public affairs diversifiedsupply. For the problems and the reasons of operation and managementexisting in Quanzhou Science and Technology Museum and the other ScienceMuseums in China, use polycentric governance angle as a starting point andmethodology to study the problem of science and technology museummanagement mode.Finally, this paper presents suggestions of management reform of QuanzhouScience and Technology Museum as following: First, clear the main supply ofdifferent kinds of public services in the science and technology museum.Second, introduce corporate and non-profit organizations in the managementdecision-making process of the science and technology museum. Third,improve the oversight mechanisms of the science and technology museum’spublic services. Fourth, establish the evaluation mechanisms of the scienceand technology museum service performance.
