Information and communication technology are playing an increasingly important role intourism organization, tourism destination and even the whole tourism industry. With the rapiddevelopment of tourism information and growing popularity of customized way of travelling,an amounting number of tourists are taking advantage of Internet to facilitate tourism.Accordingly, tourist attractions also speed up the construction of their own websites tobecome more competitive. Literature review at home and abroad indicate that tourism websitestudies has aroused substantial attention in academic and merchant circles. Despite the greatprogress made in tourism website studies, study of tourist attraction websites, however, issmall in number and calls for further exploration.This paper adopts the combination of theoretical research and empirical research. Firstly,based on the related materials at home and abroad, this paper defines tourist attractions,tourist attraction websites, performance evaluation and other related concepts, and reviewsresearches on tourist websites, website performance evaluation at home and abroad, and ondomestic tourism attraction websites. And then it classifies the main aspects of the websiteperformance evaluation mentioned in these materials, and on basis of which chooses indexesrelated to tourism website performance evaluation, and conducts an in-depth interview withpeople from website users (tourists), attraction managers and tourism researchers (throughemail or face to face communication)to obtain important factors of website performanceevaluation. Secondly, this thesis constructs a performance evaluation system which can beapplied to our country’s tourist attraction websites after analyzing the status and features ofthe domestic tourist attraction websites. Furthermore, with the help of Delphi method, thisthesis modifies the evaluation system so as to establish an objective and feasible evaluationsystem.In order to evaluate the performance level of tourist attraction websites, this thesisconstructs the evaluation model and evaluation grade standard. This thesis adopts thecombined method of expert advice and AHP, and quantitative indicators and givenstandardized method to get key indicator of quantitative evaluation. Lastly, carrying outresearch on the Guangzhou Chime-Long Tourist Resort website with the evaluation model,and analyzing evaluation results with IPA, the thesis gives suggestions to the construction ofthe tourist attraction websites and tests the rationality and feasibility of evaluation system.
