Service-oriented Manufacturing is a new manufacturing model whichintegrates manufacturing and service.It has great significance for meetingcustomer needs and promoting enterprise upgrading and restructuring. Asenterprises transition to a service-oriented manufacturing, traditionalmanufacturing supply chain is gradually transformed into a hybrid supplychain of manufacturing and services. Since manufacturing and services areessentially different in supply chain, it causes the hybrid supply chainbullwhip effect quite different from the traditional manufacturing supplychain in. The research of hybrid supply chain bullwhip effect has greatsignificance in improving the Service-oriented Manufacturing theory andand helping enterprises to reduce the bullwhip effect of hybrid supplychain.First the development of Service-oriented Manufacturing theory issummarized, the Service-oriented Manufacturing supply chain is analyzedin depth, and the hybrid supply chain with traditional manufacturingsupply chain are carefully compared. A quantitative model of hybridsupply chain bullwhip effect is established. According to the survey of anenterprise implementing Service-oriented Manufacturing, a SystemDynamics flow diagram of a typical hybrid supply chain is established.Using DYNAMO language to describe the model and VENSIM softwareto run a simulation, the result shows that the hybrid supply chain bullwhipeffect do exists, the bullwhip effect of different information sharing stategyhas been researched. Then through a large number of simulation data statistical analysis, the overall bullwhip effect of the hybrid supply chainhas been studied, with focus on the impact of market information feedback.Finally under some reasonable assumptions, the mathematical model ofhybrid supply chain is established. In some special cases, delay andconsistent strategy’s effect on hybrid supply chain bullwhip effect isanalyzed, and some suggestions on reducing the bullwhip effect of hybridsupply chain are provided.The results show that the bullwhip effect of hybrid supply chain ofmanufacturing and service is quite different from traditional manufacturingsupply chain. Market information sharing can reduce the bullwhip effect ofthe hybrid supply chain within a certain range, while over dependence onshared information will not be helpful to further reduce the bullwhip effect.Market demand information feedback has a global impact on hybrid supplychain bullwhip effect and weakens other parameters’ effect on the hybridsupply chain bullwhip effect. Delay has different effects on manufacturingand services and consistent strategy will cause the bullwhip effect ofhybrid supply chain reaching a peak high. These conclusions aresignificant for guiding supply chain managers to reduce the hybrid supplychain bullwhip effect.
