The Ecotourism Resources Evaluation And Development Strategy Of Huangnihe National Nature Reserve

With the continuous rapid growth of the economy of China, the consumption demands andconsumption concepts of residents have also changed greatly. Different from the traditionalcultural tourism and landscape tourism, the industry of green ecotourism begins to take anincreasingly important position. Over the recent years, the tourism industry all over the world ismoving towards the brand new direction, i.e. to develop the tourism function of nature reserve.The whole development condition for ecotourism in China is good at present but still remains inthe starting phrase of the construction of new industrial chain. During the development process,many problems have occurred, for example, operational management is imperfect, theenvironmental protection publicity is not sufficient, the development and construction ideaskeep same with those of the general tourist destinations, and the development planning isconstrained by the traditional conception of tourism. In the pursuit of economic interests, somenegative effects such as that the protection property of nature reserve has been reduced, theoriginal ecological environment has been damaged and the ecotourism resources have beendeteriorated.This paper takes the Huangnihe National Nature Reserve as the research object and makesassessments on the ecotourism resources of this area and proposes relevant developmentstrategies. Though field investigation, it is proved that there are rich wetland landscaperesources, river, valley and stream ecotourism resources and forest ecotourism resources in theHuangnihe National Nature Reserve. The rich wetland types include the oligotrophic peatswamp, which are rarely seen in China. In addition, the subalpine vegetation in the Reserve isof high originality, and different from that in the Changbai Mountains and Greater and LesserKhingan Mountains with its obvious vertical zonation which is characteristic of vegetationvertical distribution. The Reserve, with its original forest landscape and great diversity ofwildlife resources, is suitable for the ecotourism project which will combine recreationalholiday, outdoor adventures and scientific investigation together.Based on the wide collection of materials about the Reserve, consultations to relevantexperts and surveys among the tourists, this paper on ecotourism resources in HuangniheNational Nature Reserve has done a scientific classification, and makes relevant qualitative andquantitative calculations and evalutions through comparative analysis, situation analysis(SWOT), hierarchy analysis and other methods. Then based on the evaluation results, it proposes to take protective development as the principle and implement the developmentstrategy which attach equal importance on development and protection. At last, rationalsuggestions are put forward for the ecological tourism project of Huangnihe National NatureReserve, including suggestions on tourism products, tourism orientation and tourisminfrastructure etc.Based on the above study, the paper points out that the ecotourism project of HuangniheNational Nature Reserve is an efficient way to improve the Reserve construction and promotecomprehensive benefits in the Reserve. In spite of some disadvantages and threats in thedevelopment background, it has good internal advantages and external opportunities. Under theguidance of the principle of protective development, the potential of ecotourism resources shallbe excavated deeply, more diversified tourism products shall be designed, and the win-winsituation among ecological, social and economical benefits shall be formed, thus, thecontinuous development of ecotourism in Huangnihe National Nature Reserve will be achieved.
