The Management And Application Of TPM In The Water Treatment Areas

TPM is the abbreviation of Total Productive Maintenance. The goal of any TPMprogram is to enhance overall equipment efficiency and TPM is a system of quipmentmaintenance and Maintenance Management, based on system-wide preventivemaintenance and all personnel participation. TPM management brings economicinterests, reduces production cost, and improves product quality and the inventoryturnover rate and so on. Meanwhile, TPM can help raise safety production for workerand promote healthy development of worker. TPM contributes to environmentprotection. In the paper, exploration and application about effective managementmode or method of TPM in hot-rolling water treatment operation of TISCO energypower plant were introduced. Meanwhile, by analysis of work zone character andexisting equipment, organizational structure, policies, plans, and personnelarrangements were draft. According to TPM Management mode,5S management inthe operational areas, promoted proposal activities and self-maintenance modelimproved workplace conditions considerably, significantly enhanced professionalquality of workers, reduced equipment failure rate and improved the quality ofproducts pass rate. Simultaneously, some activities such as single point courseincreased workers ’ daily training intensity and TPM management in practical workhas formed a complete system. By some results and experiences gained from TPMmanagement in hot-rolling operation area for water treatment purposes, the article isintended to discussed some methods and existing problems for TPM management andpromote implementation of TPM Management at the grass-roots.
