Mountain wellness tourism is a new leisure and tourism style on global scale in recent years. It’s also an inevitable trend of China’s tourism products to upgrade their business. As China has many mountainous, almost all the countries are competing to develop and construct a mountain wellness tourism destination. However, owing to lack of objective and scientific evaluation criteria of the mountain wellness tourism development conditions, resulting in a "me too" phenomenon that some areas where do not have the prerequisite also develop the mountain wellness tourism, also leading to serious mountain wellness tourism product homogeneity and drastic market competition. Therefore, this research used AHP to quantitatively evaluate the development conditions of the mountain wellness tourism, and provided a basic theoretical support for mountain wellness tourism’s development.Based on the studying of relevant literature, and combined with tourism, ecology, medicine and other discipline to build a hierarchical model of evaluating the development conditions of the mountain wellness tourism. The entire hierarchical model have four layers:the target layer (A); the comprehensive evaluation layer (B), the evaluation of projects layer (C) and the evaluation factors layer (D). The target layer (A) is also called the evaluation of development conditions of the mountain wellness tourism. The comprehensive evaluation layer (B) includes natural conditions (B1) and socio-economic conditions (B2). The evaluation project layer (C) includes8subdivide factors: mountain type (C1), climate conditions (C2), water conditions (C3), other natural items (C4) and location conditions (C5), economic conditions (C6), wellness resources (C1), wellness facilities and services (C8). The evaluation factor layer (D) includes20subdivide factors:low-hill (D1), middle mountain (D2), alp (D3), temperature (D4), relative humidity (D5), pressure (D6), water type (D7), water quality (D8), negative oxygen ions (D9), the forest coverage (D10), location (D11), traffic conditions (D12), per capita GDP (D13), urbanization level (D14), religion wellness resources (D15), Chinese medicine wellness resources (D16), wellness spa resources (D17), diet wellness resources (D18), facilities for the elderly (D19), wellness tourism personnel (D20).According to consult the experts’suggestions, gained the value of the importance of each factor which was compared by each two factors of the hierarchical model of evaluating the development conditions of the mountain wellness tourism. On this basis, the judgment matrices were constructed at various levels. And then used the statistical analysis software yaahp0.5.2to calculate the weight of each factors. After every factor passed the consistency test, got a quantitative evaluation figure of mountain wellness tourism development conditions. The quantitative evaluation showed that:(1)Relative to layer A:Natural conditions(B1) is4.9times of socio-economic conditions(B2); B1of the weight value is0.8333,(2)Relative to layer B1:The most important factor is the climate conditions (C2=0.4205), Relative to layer (B2), The most important factor is the Geographic conditions (C2=0.4134).(3)Relative to layer D:Weight value is greater than0.10, we have Middle mountains(D2=0.1480),Climatic conditions(D4=0.2153),Weight value between0.05-0.10we have Negative oxygen ions (D9=0.0536)-Water quality (D8=0.0686)、The type of water body (D7=0.0686)、Low mountains (D1=0.0814)、Relative humidity (D5=0.0940). These results indicate that:In the evaluation of all factors of the mountain of health tourism development conditions, Middle mountains、Air temperature is most important. Negative oxygen ions、Water quality、The type of water body、Low mountains、Relative humidity, also the more important factors.
